Sustainable Wastewater Treatment Station
The AQUABIOdom® represents a full indoor wastewater treatment plant for municipalities with connected populations in the range between 2.500 and 50.000 people. Optional the biofiltration units can also be installed outside the operation building.
The AQUABIOdom® includes primary, secondary and tertiary treatment and uses the biofiltration AQUABIOflux® as biological stage. The design of the AQUABIOdom® is made in accordance with public German design regulations ATV/DVGW. The treatment results are according to applicable EU guidelines (91/271/EWG).
One of the main advantages of the AQUABIOdom® is the low energy consumption. The number of biofilters in operation is automatically adjusted to the respective hydraulic inflow volume of wastewater. This means that fewer filters are operated at night and during periods of low load (seasonal fluctuations). This leads to considerable energy savings. Overall, the energy requirement of the system is directly proportional to the organic load. This means that if the sewage treatment plant is only 30% loaded, only 30% of the energy requirement occurs. This correlation is particularly important for wastewater treatment plants in touristic areas.
The AQUABIOdom® HYBRID is equipped with solar panels on the roof of the operation building. Depending on the geographical location, around 20-30% of the energy requirements of the sewage treatment plant can be covered in this way.
